I’m a member of the amazing Bloom forum. This week’s challenge was to do a photo that represents how much I love Bloom. My photoshop skills in this kind of work leave a bit to be desired, but my idea was to change out the Hollywood sign. lol This was as good as I could do (this is actually a photo of where the hollywood sign is, I just cloned out the words.![]()

Haha – very cool and creative!
Hee! Cute!
Whew, it’s been a busy summer and I didn’t get this up on Wednesday, so this week it’ll be Friday. Nice to meet you Crystal. My husband is also from California and we visit at least once a year! As a matter of fact, we are heading there in the morning.![]()
What is your Business Name:
Crystal’s Cute Creations
Where did the name come from? What is the meaning behind the name?
I would always hear “You have such cute creations!” As I was thinking of wild but fun names to start up a business page on Facebook, I just couldn’t decide. So I decide to just be orginal because my creations speak for themself, and that is when Crystal’s Cute Creations came to mind!
Do you have a store front/website/etsy?
Facebook
Etsy
When did you start your business?
I started making hair bows and headbands shortly after my daughter was born 2 years ago. Once my husband got back from Iraq, we bought a house, had our son and things slowed down a bit I decided to expand and really advertise my creations. My facebook page opened up in March of 2011!
How many children do you have and how old are they?
I have 2 children. A little diva with an attitude who will be 2 in September and a cool chillaxed little man who is 7 1/2 months old!
Tell us about your product and the concepts behind it.
What started out a bows, headbands, tutus and everything for a little girl has quickly expanded into a little something for everyone! After having a son I had realized there just is not many fun things out there for little boys. I put my crafting cap on and went to work! Its a work in progress but I’m coming up with a list of new things and ideas daily. My customers and fans of my Facebook page have been a huge help also! I like to create things that are fun, adorable, practical and useful!
What makes your product/business so unique?
The Boutique style is a huge hit right now! I try to think outside the box and create things so when people see a creation they think “Now that is a great idea and its so adorable too.” I also like to mix and match colors and patterns that not everyone would think of putting together!
What are your secrets for having a business while raising a family?
I am still trying to figure out that secret! = ) Not only do I have 2 kids 15 months apart but I also run a small in home daycare! We just added a dog into the picture too. Our house is constantly on play mode it seems. In all honesty, I have had a HUGE support system in this and cannot thank my husband, my parents, sister and grandmother enough for helping me out whenever and with whatever that needs to be done!
Who is your biggest inspiration?
The lovely and AMAZING “Granny Grace” She is my grandmother and my best friend! She taught me to sew when I was younger and helped me win numerous purple ribbons in 4H. My business would not be where it is today if it was not for her. She has donated her time, her machines and her knowledge to get me started! Granny has been my rock through all this! There are not enough words in Mr. Webster’s dictionary that I could use to thank her for being such an amazing Grandma!! YOU ROCK GRANNY GRACE!!!
What is your favorite place to eat?
With 2 little ones, drive thrus are MUST! We enjoy Runza! If it is just my husband and I we like to try new places all the time.
What is your favorite color?
Oddly enough I don’t have a favorite color because if I did it would change daily!
Favorite piece of clothing or accessory?
Anything I make = ) Just Kidding! My comfy yoga pants are the best for at home, but I do love to dress up! My favorite accessories are my wedding ring and necklace from my hubby!
Favorite vacation spot?
CALIFORN-I-A!!!!! I took my first trip (and first plane ride 7 months pregnant) to San Diego, California to visit my husband before he deployed to Iraq. And the minute I stepped out of that airport I fell in LOVE! I have been back there once since then and did not want to leave. My husband being a native of California, we hope to move there someday!
What makes you smile?
My family and my customers!!!
When you have free time, what is your favorite thing to do?
My children love the outdoors! They love going down to Grandma & Grandpa’s farm to just run and explore! Something they don’t get to do a lot living in Lincoln. We love the zoo and the Children’s Museum!
Crystal’s Cute Creations can be found on Facebook, Etsy and soon to be in stores in Lincoln! I post on my Facebook page almost daily! Check it out, I am always running specials and giveaways!

This week’s theme for my Bloom 52 project with some amazing photogs from around the US is National Kids Day Who knew? I thought most days were “kids day” lol. Shaylee has really been liking her Squinkies lately. She’s had some for awhile but all of a sudden they are her “go to” toys.
She’s so funny!
Now head over to Jennifer’s blog to see her take on this.
